Gikomba Market Baby Centre feature on Citizen TV Kenya

Happy Wednesday,

At Wow Mom Kenya , we advocate for children friendly cities by bringing to attention policies and plans that plaque children in cities.

We have learnt that small initiatives can have a huge impact in our communities. Our Gikomba Market child-care initiative is an example of how we can realize inclusive cities for all through low-cost projects and a thoughtful planning process particularly focusing on the most vulnerable (low-income women and children) in our cities.

Since opening our doors in December 2021, we have served over 50 caregivers and counting. We can’t even meet the demand. Our dream and those of the women in Gikomba, is to have a trained caregiver/teacher take care of the children while the mothers commit more time to their business to earn a living!

Over the weekend, we had the opportunity to be interviewed by Raquel Muigai of Royal Media Services and we were featured on Saturday 9th of March 2022 on the 7:00 PM(Swahili news) and 9:00 PM(Prime news-English) on Citizen Tv.

We welcome you to join us in this initiative by tagging potential partners, sharing our story across your network, in-kind support (learning materials and toys for the children )and monetary support.

Thank you @citizentvkenya and @raquel_muigai_ of Royal Media Services Limited for this excellent feature.
