Fish weaning recipes

From 7 months, am sure you want to explore more on proteins. In the first month of weaning, you must have focused on simple fruits and vegetables. This can be boring for the baby. Fish is a great ingredient to spice up the flavor and the nutrients in the baby’s food. Fish was the first meat I introduced to my baby. Being white meat, it is easy to digest and hence very suitable for weaning.  Further, it is easy to cook, less chewy unlike other meat and can easily be combined with many ingredient for that scrumptious meal that your baby will love.

Fish is rich source of protein that your baby needs for growth and development. It is also a rich source of vitamins and minerals and healthy oils. Oily fish in particular contains high level of omega 3 a fatty acid that boost brain development. I think you want your baby to perform well in school…so give fish at least once a week.  HERE ARE FEW RECIPES FOR TODAY!

Fish, green banana and Spinach

Ingredients

1tsp of cooking oil

100g of fish fillet

2 green bananas

4 leaves of spinach.

1 small onion

1 tomato

Method

Peel the green banans, wash, drain and bring to boil till tender. Drain excess water and reserve for later use. Heat cooking oil in a sauce pan. Add finely chopped onions. Stir and cook till golden brown. Add finely chopped tomatoes and stir to cook for 2 minutes. Add fish fillet. (check for any bones before you add). Fillet disintegrates/ breaks as it cooks. Stir and cook for 10 minutes.  Add finely chopped spinach and stir. Cook for three minutes. Add the bananas and stir. Add little water if necessary. Cook for 2 minutes. Mash or blend the food. You can use the reserved water for right consistency.  I really love this recipe coz it is easy to make and it I super delicious and healthy. Try it out.
