Hey there. Thanks for passing by. I have said a time and again that parenting is hard and lonely. It’s constant, demanding and hard to be fully prepared for. We are always confused on what to do, how to do it and even when to do it. To make the matters worse, our children grow up so fast and before you know it, they are over to the next stage. Just when you have hacked breastfeeding….weaning comes up….then you are at cross roads not knowing what to feed, when to feed and how to feed. Is it puree to mashed or is baby led weaning better. Then the first days of feeding you start dealing with allergies….once in a while likelihood of chocking…eczema trigger in…weight loss…after the first birthday you start toddler feeding drama. It’s so much….motherhood is indeed a full time job and the only job that you will never retire from. But who train you on how to handle all these challenges every day. Just imagine of the number of years and money that you have spent in school to be able to do the job you are currently doing. How much resources does your employer invest in training you to be a better worker? How comes we don’t take parenting seriously.

Nearly 30% of Kenya’s children are under nourished with 26% stunted. About 1 in 10 children are obese/overweight. The affected children will never reach their full physical and mental potential. Although malnutrition indicators are improving, it is estimated that from 2010–2030 under nutrition will cost Kenya approximately US$38.3 billion in GDP due to losses in workforce productivity. Malnutrition is avoidable and preventable.
